What's your 30-second elevator speech?

Experience design is a process that can be applied to literally anything - whether it be your experience with a product,service, brand or even talking about one.

The best way to understand what to do and how,comes from the collective minds of the people who do it most - you're users,customers or target audience.

I help businesses grow through putting their users at the heart of their decisions.

Who inspires you the most to be the best you can be as a person?

Many people! My clients who I’m grateful to work alongside, the team I work with at Yuza, my housemates who are both incredibly creative musicians and my family.

They say you’re the average of the 5 people you spend most time with - so I choose them wisely!

What does a User Experience Consultant do?How do you freelance as an individual and within a work a tight network of design specialists at Yuza?

I often understand why something may or may not be working, define it into design criteria, test ways of fixing it, find the best way to achieve it, execute it, then measures it’s success. The goal is always tied to tangible outcomes - like being able to walk through a door, easy. But what if you’re struggling to know whether to push, pull or slide - not quite as easy. The door might look nice, but it serves a purpose and the outcome you're looking for is to be outside (not thinking about the damn door!).

Ultimately I understand problems, make sense of them, then remove the friction between how some things being done and what people actually want. My work varies greatly, from websites of sole traders to reshaping how a Government department delivers a service to the public, offline and online.

Between freelancing and working apart of Yuza, I determine the best skill set to fulfill what’s needed for each project to ensure I or we are always working within our own specialties.  

What fascinates you most by human behaviour and connecting people & their passions?

That human behaviour can be seemingly complex, however once you dig deep enough what people want,and how they want to connect can to incredibly simple.

You help businesses grow by putting customers at the heart of their decisions.  Can youtell me about one of your client success stories?

We recently redesigned a website for Surfers gym down at Cromer (Manly Surf School). Having gone through the UX Process,understood what people really wanted, then executed it - membership grew substantially, people are dropping in all the time and there’s new faces and connections being made daily.  

What’s your favourite thing about working at Motive Coworking?

It’s a really motivating place to work from, everyone is driven to master their own craft. You can really feel the motivation and inspiration when alongside other people within the space.

What does life look like outside your business profile? What do you like doing for fun?

I’m all for the outdoors whether it be surfing or camping, and I‘m right into music - I play a few instruments, the latest addition to learn is the flute.

Bonus Question: If you were a sandwich, what sort of sandwich would you be?

Supreme veggie deluxe. I don’t know why, nor if I’ve even had it before, but it sounds pretty damn good hah!
