What's your 30-second elevator speech?
My name is Mishwaza, you can call me Mish, rhymes with Fish. I’m a Culture Philosopher (whatever that means 😎) who currently works @KPMG in the Risk Strategy and Technology Team. I am very very fresh into the start up world and currently working on two sensational projects – Risk Strategy for Start ups and Culture Gamification. Please reach out if either tickle your fancy, I love a good chat ☺
Who inspires you the most to be the best you can be as a person?
Ah there’s two humans – my dearest Mother, I call her Ammu and Dr Seuss. They’re insanely inspirational and blow my mind every time I find out more and peel back another layer of their onion.
Can you tell us a little bit about your business, and the areas you specialise in?
Risk Strategy for Start ups is in the making, yet to be established and we recently had a focus group session with a solid 10 entrepreneurs (at different stages of their business cycle and varied industries) to gauge where the start up community concerns are specific to Risk Management (all aspects of non-financial risk management – governance, reporting, board management and engagement, compliance management, operational risk – failed internal systems, processes, people.)
Culture Gamification is a piece of work I have been dreaming about since I graduated University. Having worked in Corporates since then, my observations on how humans work in varied team environments and cultural settings have matured specifically with a risk to people lens; whilst considering perspectives on peoples identity, all aspects of diversity, ways of working, biases and life stage. This is a tech start up, so watch this space!
What’s your favourite thing about working at Motive Coworking?
I enjoy talking to the different business owners and getting awesome beach recommendations!! And who can forget the indoor basketball arcade game, SICK!
What does life look like outside your business profile? What do you like doing for fun?
I enjoy travelling to new places, long drives, reading/writing (a self-professed poet) and go nuts when I see butterflies.
Is there anything you would like to share? Or anything you’d like to offer help with?
I’d love to provide pro-bono advice and simultaneously pick any of your brains too, on what you believe your business risk strategy needs could be, especially going into 2021.
Bonus Question: If you were a sandwich, what sort of sandwich would you be and why?
You know the 3 pack croissants @Coles? I usually stick a freddo in one of them and microwave it, viola – 10 seconds later, your chocolate croissant is ready. Short and sweet – albeit impactful.
